#1 Italian Game :
Description : One of the most common openings in AMATEUR tournament play. It isn't seen much in high- level competition due to the clearly superior Ruy Lopez ( Which I'll Cover Next ).
The Italian game is achieved by the following move order :
1. e4 e5
2. Nf3 Nc6
3. Bc4
( transposition is also possible . )
Respondable Moves :
3.... Nd4 :- ( NOT REALLY RECOMMENDED AGAINST GOOD PLAYERS )
The Blackburne - Shilling Gambit. BEWARE BEGINNERS!!!!!!!! This is not a real gambit. Here are the accepted traps :
Variation 1 :-
4. Nxe5?? Qg5
5. Nxf7 ?? Qxg7!!
6. Rf1 Qxe4!!
7. Be2 ( Qe2 loses loads of material ) Nf3#
Variation 2 :
5. Ng4 d5!!
6. Bxd5 Qxg4
7. Qxg4 Bxg4
3.....Bc5 :-
The Giuoco Piano ( The Quiet Game ) is a black move which I personally recommend. it has a strong continuation and stops 4. d3 followed by 5. Ng5 due to 0-0 by then. Black can now continue with 4...Nf6.
4. d3 Gives rise to the Giuoco Pianissimo.
3....Nf6 :-
The Agressive Two Knight's Defense. It is generally regarded as a good opening, but i still prefer the Giouco Piano. Here are the variations : ( Courtesy Wikipedia , i haven't studied the two knights myself enough, i dont prefer it )
